Introduction to BKL Reports
Each data type within the BKL is represented by its own report.
Detailed descriptions of the information provided within each
report can be accessed by clicking the links below. Please note
that not all report types are accessible for all modules.
Locus Report - presents information about genes, RNAs (mRNAs, pre-miRNAs, or miRNAs), and proteins. Locus Reports are present in both the Proteome and TRANSFAC modules.
Complex Report - presents information relating to complexes. Complex Reports are present in both the Proteome and TRANSFAC modules.
Promoter Report - presents information about promoters. Promoter Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
Functional Region Report - presents information about regulatory regions of a gene for which some functionality has been shown under certain conditions. Functional Region Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
Composite Element Report - presents information about composite regulatory elements. Composite Element Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
Site Report - presents information about transcription factor binding sites. Site Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
ChIP Experiment Report - presents information about DNA fragments shown to be bound by transcription factors in vivo by Chromatin ImmunoPrecipitation (ChIP) or similar studies. ChIP Experiment Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
Matrix Report - presents information about nucleotide distribution matrices of aligned transcription factor binding site sequences. Matrix Reports are only present in the TRANSFAC module.
Family Report - presents information about families and subfamilies of proteins that play regulatory roles in signaling or metabolic pathways. Family Reports are present in both the Proteome and TRANSFAC modules.
Pathway/Chain Report - presents information about pathways and chains involved in signaling or metabolism. Pathway Reports are only present in the Proteome module.
Reaction Report - presents information about the individual reactions that comprise signaling and metabolic pathways. Reaction Reports are only present in the Proteome module.
Small Molecule Report - presents information about non-proteinaceous molecules such as ions, metabolites, co-enzymes, and secondary messengers that play regulatory roles in signaling and metabolic pathways. Small Molecule Reports are present in both the Proteome and TRANSFAC modules.
Disease Report - presents information about human diseases. Disease Reports are present in both the Proteome and TRANSFAC modules, but in the TRANSFAC module the information presented in the reports is limited to that which pertains directly to transcription factors.
Drug Report - presents information about drug entities. Drug Reports are onlt present in the Proteome module.
